The Braemar Walkers were formed on 11 January 2010 to encourage walking in and around Braemar. The walks aim to promote fitness through walking and social interaction with like minded people.
Activities: Plan and execute walks, look at new and existing routes and research and investigate old and ancient paths in the area.

Walk No 40 Morrone Circular 3 November 2011

The mist clearing on the ascent

A good,local walk for the start of the winter season:
We set off along the Old Military Road to the Landrover track which takes you to the top. We stopped for lunch at the arial then descended on the footpath to the Indicator approx 7.52 miles.
The hill was covered in mist which didn't clear until we were on our way down on the East side towards the village.As always I forget the views which are really quite spectacular..We are so lucky to live in a place surrounded by such rugged scenery.
