Walk 63 White Bridge - Derry Lodge Circular

The weather was great and for me, the idea of cutting the walk short at the Chest o Dee quickly faded. The Chest o'Dee with its crystal clear pools and unspoilt formations was a perfect place to stop and have a coffee/tea break before saying goodbye to some of the Group who,for many reasons, including the Ryder Cup, decided they had had enough for one day. After our goodbyes, those more adventurous,  pressed on into Glen Dee to be presented with a clear view of Devils Point to the left and Cairn a'Mhaim to the right. We stopped for lunch within view of the track running along the side of Alt Clais Mhadaidh.
After lunch, we moved off up the track. I crossed the burn and suddenly felt rather lonely I turned to check on the others to discover that they had decided, under the leadership of Michel, to take a short cut across the bog and peat hags which covers that particular area. Being reluctant to partake in this brave endeavour I chose to follow the main well trodden track to the top of the burn and meet our group on the Lairig Ghru path..It gave me a chance to have another coffee and watch the poor souls struggle across to meet me again on the main path.
We arrived at Bob Scotts and finished our remaining coffee before continuing on to the Linn o Dee Car Park, on time...... A great day out.
