Walk 26 Chest of Dee

Walk 26

With some regular walkers otherwise engaged on more epic journeys only 3 brave souls arrived at the Linn of Dee to make the walk up to the White Bridge in somewhat unpromising weather conditions.
Almost exactly like the Met Office symbol for sunshine and showers the river seemed to bisect very different conditions with the sun shining brightly over the North bank and black clouds shading the South. Heavy rain never really materialised however and we enjoyed a very pleasant outward walk noting the ruined town ships of Tomnamoine, Tonnagaoithe, Dalvorar and Dubrach en route. With all the recent rain water levels were fairly high ensuring a dramatic flow over the falls at the Chest of Dee where we stopped for lunch.
A brisk return walk enabled us to reach a very full car park shortly after 2.00pm
